Artist’s Statement

My creative process is done within an environment of abundance—stacked spools of wire, paper in bins, bags of street finds, electronic transistors, vinyl tubing, broken crayons—everything is fair game. The creative work begins when the accumulation phase is over. Then I flip through the art history textbook in my head, looking through my mind’s eye at the painted Minoan frescoes with sea life and spirals, or the color symbolism in Byzantine Madonnas and Aztec manuscripts.
Many thanks to the teachers and artists who have inspired me: Marcia Lewis, Sherilyn Miller, Robin Atkins, and Brian Clark, to name a few.
I hope you enjoy visiting this site. I designed it with you in mind. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to email me.
